Das Guggenheim in New York eröffnet im November eine einmalige Ausstellung. Der in New York lebende Künstler Maurizio Cattelan stellt seine umfassende Retrospektive vor, die mehr als 130 ausgestellte Werke aus privater und öffentlicher Sammlung umfasst. Für die Ausstellung zeigt Cattelan nicht nur seine seit 1980 gesammelten Werke, sondern er schafft eigens für die Ausstellung eine dramatische standortspezifische Installation. Geöffnet vom 4. November 2011 bis 22. Januar 2012.
This november the Guggenheim Museum in New York present the first retrospective of the Italian artist Maurizi Cattelan. Cattelan is famous for provocatively art of the modern and contemporary culture. “Hailed simultaneously as a provocateur, prankster, and tragic poet of our times, Italian-born Maurizio Cattelan has created some of the most unforgettable images in recent contemporary art. This retrospective survey marks the first time that the entirety of Cattelan’s oeuvre will be assembled into a coherent exhibition narrative, with more than 130 works borrowed from private and public collections around the world, ranging from the late 1980s to the present.” Doors are open from 4 Novembre 2011 to 22 January 2012.
