Das nenne ich mal unscheinbares Design! Von außen kaum verändert, aber komplett restauriert, schaut dieses traditionelle Haus im viktorianischen Baustil von innen schon gleich komplett anders aus. Meiner Meinung nach ein gelungener Spagat den die Architekten von Chenchow Little, bei dem Skylight House in Sydney, schaffen. Die Ornamente der Fassade kaschieren das puristische Innendesign und schaffen so einen super Gegensatz. Der Innenraum bietet neben der Küche, 2 Badezimmer und 3 Wohnräume. Ein weiterer Gegensatz zum viktorianischen Stil ist das Esszimmer, das sich jetzt im oberen Stockwerk befindet und so eine super Aussicht bereit hält. Aber auch die Kombination der minimalistischen Materialien ist einmalig. Rauhbeton und Glas werden in ihrer Strenge von Holz durchbrochen, was das Haus trotz allem Purismus dennoch wohnlich macht. Einfach und genial! Zurecht ist dieses Haus auch Gewinner des Residential Archetecture Award for Alterations and Additions. Mehr Bilder nach dem Klick.
That’s what I call inconspicuous design! From the outside almost about the same, but from the inside, this restored Victorian terrace house looks completely different. In my opinion, a successful balancing act by the architects of Chenchow Little, by creating the Skylight House in Sydney. The ornaments of the facade hide the minimalist interior design and create a super contrast. The interior offers besides a new kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Another contrast to the Victorian style is the dining room, which is now situated in the upper floor offering a great view. But also the combination of minimalist materials is unique. Rough concrete and glass will be broken in their strictness by wood, which makes the house livable in spite of all purism. Simple and ingenious! Also a reason why this house won the Award for Residential Archetecture Alterations and Additions. More pictures after the click.
