Das britische Label Universal Works hat einige Bilder ihrer demnächst erscheinenden Herbst/Winter 2011-Kollektion veröffentlicht. Universal Works hat sich auf die Verarbeitung von natürlicher Garne und Stoffe spezialisiert. Aber auch Garne die woanders in der Tonne gelandet wären, finden hier ihren Weg in Produkte. Diese Art des Herangehens und die ausgereifte Handwerkskunst bezüglich Rohmaterialien machen diese Firma zu etwas besonderem. Das Grundprinzip ist wieder einmal eine “gute ehrliche Männerkleidung” zu schaffen, die durch den besonderen Umgang einzigartiger Garne ihre Vollendung findet. Die Kollektion besteht zu einem großen Teil aus Strick, Hemden und Outerwear. Neben Wolle und Baumwolle findet auch Tweed den Weg in die Kollektion.
British Menswear label Universal Works have recently released some images of their soon to be available Autumn/Winter 2011 range. I’m guessing that what’s been shown so far is only a brief snapshot of what will be in stores and by the look of things it’s a really strong collection of clothing. Universal Works are a label that like to use natural fabrics and yarns, and they also often use dead stock fabrics in their garments which would have otherwise gone to waste. It’s this care and attention to sourcing raw materials and also the thought and craftsmanship that goes into the product that in my view makes the brand so good. The core principal of ‘good honest Menswear’ once again runs right through this collection of brilliantly designed and detailed staple garments. There’s some solid shirting and loads of great knitwear on show – the jumper in the first image and the navy cardigan in the fourth image both look particularly good for example and I’m sure there’ll be more where they came from. There’s also a couple of nice outerwear pieces too, especially the green jacket in its mix of cotton and tweed.
